My Advanced Pre-Calculus class took a virtual field trip to NIST (the National Institute of Standards and Technology) to learn where Pi is used in the real world. As we begin our study of Trignometry, students are thinking about where this math applies. Here is what they discovered:

Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteYour graphic organizer introducing the concept of Pi looks great! I can easily tell how Pi is used in the real world, such as in fire research and computing. I believe it will help your students get a better idea about the difficult math concept. I like how the concepts are organized and grouped in different colors. The arrows also lead my thoughts. The graphic representations are easier to understand and retain (Schrock, 2016a), and it helps me to construct a knowledge mapping in my mind.
